Artist opportunities can be very hard to come by. I should know as a Black artist returning to the art world full time. So with this website and my Ikohaus Gallery on the Codex Protocol platform let’s create them.
Because this is exactly what I did in 2006 after 40 years of just working to help my family survive. Only this time I added a twist. I threw away the brushes, paint and paper and went purely digital.
Let me fast forward and get to the business at hand. Again being a Black artist in the art world can be daunting. Galleries that marginalize your work, exhibitions that are a catch 22 requiring a track record that has no on ramp.
This no longer can be of any importance. Even artists are jaded and prejudiced. Some do not want to part of a Gallery that is black owned, even if it is pioneering new technology of the 21st Century in collaboration with some of the young brightest minds in the emerging Blockchain Art industry.
Given that I am an award winning artist what can we do to increase artist opportunities for exposure? For that I go back to our founding premise, forming an online version of a 21st Century Bauhaus.
We tried a call for artists resulting in very few and not serious inquires. I remember joining a World Art Foundation in around 2008 which was not very inclusive and really didn’t do anything. Now we have all the tools and connected platforms in a democratized fashion at our disposal.
So we will start from there, a basic membership listing as an Ikohaus artist open to all artists that we will maintain with your short Bio 3 pics, and links for $4.99/mo. From there we will start to rollout to qualified members how to place their art on the blockchain, sell there and move to be included in the Featured Ikohaus Gallery.
Just follow this Member link to get started.
