I feel that it is very important to betaking honest and transparent here now with what Ikohaus and myself is undertaking. The follow through on the response to our open call was very disappointing. Not because no one responded, but rather because the follow up was dismal.
Why? Because most social media sites, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter etc., have conditioned artists to believe everything is free, while the platforms rake in billions in advertising revenue and you provide the content for free.
This coupled with the marginalizationof minority artists represented a huge hurdle for artists to overcome. That is the point we started from.
Now while re-working and reformulating our process we noticed many of the same techniques we pioneered, totally digital works, presentation views, storing works in the cloud garnering the attention of the industry and showing while we were marginalized to the depths of our own pocket.
Surely many of our techniques were copied without attribution because what they most lack is innovation. Just like Picasso took the new found interest in Colonial Africa and took the advance design statues and figurines in the Benin culture and turned them into wildly popular Cubism.

Pulling our last decade and half of work together, I created a means of the Ikohaus gallery components working together to both display the work across various connected display devices, while maintaining both the work and the blockchain certification in the cloud.
In the beginning of our work on the Codex Protocol blockchain I noticed a real aversion for adopters in the complex methods needed to acquire the record with Ethereum from the blockchain. Working together with Codex they devised a new simple sign on method through Facebook, Google and Microsoft, then providing Codex Tokens for free at first then more can be purchased through fiat currencies.
Then I place the work on our Ikohaus Amazon gallery. This is a component I worked on with Amazon going back to the year 2000 when I was told that only dead famous artists could have their work on Amazon. For 9 long years I worked with Amazon via email to change that, then found that Sotherby’s had adopted my methods and would not allow even me the creator of the feature to exhibit in their gallery.
This is where I finally realized in the coming together of my approach to On Line Galleries like Ikohaus, they just don’t get it. So I already own a Gallery on Amazon and on Codex Protocol. I won’t get exhibited in Galleries in NYC or even in my current town of Greenville, NC. I am a disruptor, or as one local improvement organization described of me as an innovative Afro/Hispanic/American, I am dangerous, a threat to the status quo.
Thus was my call out to serious artists that want to make a difference, not a free ride. There is much work to do to spur adoption and overcome the barriers to acceptance of collecting digital works and sharing.
