Digital Art Program On Line Education is a disruptive technology that looks to redefine the value in art from an academic, corporate University held value to a more humanistic decentralized appreciation.
There is one very funny attribute about art. Creativity cannot be taught and studied, rather it is inherent. What is taught is what was previously done and is theory and aesthetics.
What we must look at in this point in the course is, whose theory are we learning? From what school of thought does it come from? Was there a Picasso school of thought? Did Salvador Dali have a school? Did Rauschenberg and Pollack change art because of their disruptive thinking?
By now you should be pretty familiar with the digital pen input. It must become an extension of your hand and brain, just as a pencil or paint brush would.
On my search since about 2006 I came upon a trial of this Art Rage software from Ambient Design of New Zealand. From the very outset I fell in love with the intuitive painterly attributes of the software. Over the years it has progressively improved and I find that I can combine it’s features with other software such as Gimp or Microsoft 3D.
The whole idea of this lesson is to prepare to work with various software’s as tools and familiarize what ArtRage does by utilizing their free demo for software should you decide to buy is far cheaper than Adobe and I believe is more of an artists nature rather than a commercial artist.
