Carlos at Woodstock 1969 (in yellow circle)

Now that’s just it. There are no words from our sponsor, because besides the ads we have on the sides, no commercial muckety muck’s will support our music. Oh we have tried many companies over the past 6 years, and it’s been one story or another, one after the other. So we’re going to change our format and return to our roots. Rock n Roll and Hip Hop.  Just as back then many of my friends questioned listening to Sly and the Family Stone and going to Woodstock. Now we find that was one of the most historical era’s in musical history.

Arnold Skolnick
(who designed the logo) says
that the dove on the guitar was
actually designed to resemble
catbird (and it was originally perched on a flute).

Today we’re bored out of our skulls with the constant barrage of cursing “beaches” self braggadocio about being a part of the movement but actually moving nothing but their buttocks into fancy cars and gold jewelry, with one way conversation to fans on twitter and facebook, but never really answering or talking with the fans.

I watched some of the Coachella concert and noticed that many of the youth had nothing to say about situations going on in the world, climate change causing tornadoes throughout the Midwest, rising prices of college tuition, continued wars in the Mideast and Civil Rights violation of Trayvon Martin. Boy just to think back in the 60’s students lost their lives fighting for rights at Ohio’s Kent State just for us to get to the point of having a volunteer Army.

So what where we’re looking to go now in music, is to become music activist. Take the old skool music mixed with some of the new Rock and Hip that is conscious music and try to move and resurrect the old Age of Aquarius, not the Dawn, but to revitalize Day as the Industrial Revolution had spawned so many new and forward critical thinkers.

I really believe that with the current state of everything being made by machines or in China at a very low cost, the only thing that man has left is the creative ability of Art, Music, Writing and Dance. This is where we should be now.

This is probably your best work ever – in writing, at least, my friend. Sorry to see you give up on the “Jerkin” kids – or, at least I feel compelled to express sorry; as you know, I never really got that what they were about was so glorious. Then again, JUST like you, I am willing to take plunges, and try things.

Perhaps it might send the message to them to do something with some consciousness raising capabilities instead of one direction self promotion.
